Enquiries and bookings

Your name, contact details and any booking information you share are used to answer your enquiry and arrange your requested service. Booking enquiries are handled to take steps at your request before an agreement or to fulfil that agreement. General correspondence is handled for the legitimate interest of running the business. Making an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

The enquiry form prepares a draft in your own email application. It does not send your message or store it in a website database. You decide whether to send the email.

Website operation

Hostinger provides hosting and email services. Technical information, including IP addresses and access logs, may be processed to deliver and protect the website, for the legitimate interest of keeping it reliable and secure. Photographs, video and fonts are hosted on this website.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics loads only with your consent. It helps understand visits, referring websites, approximate location and device and browser information. Advertising storage and advertising personalisation are disabled in this website’s consent settings.

Browser storage named shoeshiner-consent remembers your choice for 365 days. With consent, Google Analytics uses cookies including _ga and _ga_*, configured to expire after two years and renew on later visits. Browser limits may shorten this period.

You can refuse analytics and still use the website. Change your choice through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal stops future analytics collection and removes analytics cookies this website can access; it does not undo earlier processing.

Service providers

Hostinger processes information needed to host the website and deliver email. Google receives analytics information if you consent. Relevant records may also be shared with advisers or authorities when necessary for administration or legal obligations. WhatsApp and social media platforms have their own privacy policies when you follow their links.

Providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Applicable safeguards include standard contractual clauses and, for eligible transfers to Google in the United States, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Keeping information

Information is kept for handling enquiries, providing agreed services and necessary follow-up. Records needed for accounting, legal obligations or resolving claims are retained for those purposes. Technical logs follow the provider’s operational retention schedules.

Google Analytics is configured to retain event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. The user-data retention period resets with new activity. These settings do not apply to standard aggregated reports.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time. Contact info@shoeshiner.com to exercise your rights. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
